Education is the foundation of a better future, and spreading awareness about its importance is crucial—especially in rural areas. In May 2025, a remarkable initiative was undertaken by Tata Steel Foundation, bringing the power of theatre and cinema to villages through an extensive Nukkad Natak campaign on education.
About the Initiative
The campaign was executed in collaboration with VPRA Entertainment, who managed the local lineup and successfully organized the performances. As a vendor, VPRA Entertainment hired talented artists from Jharkhand Production, known for their impactful grassroots performances.
This large-scale awareness drive covered rural regions including:
- Musabani
- Dumaria villages

Performances & Execution
Over the course of two days, the team delivered an impressive:
👉 36 Nukkad Natak performances
Each performance focused on:
- Importance of education
- School enrollment
- Preventing dropouts
- Encouraging girl child education
Creative Team
The Nukkad Natak team was led by:
- Team Lead & Casting Director: Prem Sharma
- Artists: Jharkhand Production Team
Under strong leadership and direction, the artists delivered powerful and engaging performances that connected deeply with rural audiences.
Film Screening for Awareness
Along with street plays, the campaign also included film screenings to enhance the impact.
