Tor Galiyon Mein Review: A Heart-Touching Nagpuri Love Story by Midnight Butterfly Films
Some love stories reach their destination, while others remain alive in memories, familiar streets, and unspoken words. Tor Galiyon Mein, a romantic Nagpuri short film directed by Pankaj Agarwal, explores this emotional journey through love, friendship, family pressure, and the realities of rural life.
Featuring Prem Sharma, Keya, Yogsha Sarkar, Aman Das, Neer, Swati, and other talented artists, the film brings a relatable story to the screen. Adding to its romantic atmosphere are songs sung by renowned Nagpuri singer Vivek Nayak, including Tor Galiyon Mein and Wahi Mod Pe.
A Love Story of Waiting, Hope and Separation
At the heart of Tor Galiyon Mein is a young man who deeply loves a girl but struggles to express his feelings. He waits by the roadside, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. For him, an ordinary village street becomes a place of dreams, anticipation, and unspoken emotions.
Unable to confess his love, he seeks advice from his friends, creating relatable moments of friendship and light-hearted humour. A simple incident in which he helps the girl repair her bicycle chain opens the possibility of a connection between them.
Meanwhile, Sagar faces a different challenge. His beloved’s family arranges her marriage against her wishes, putting their relationship under immense pressure. As wedding preparations begin, the lovers consider running away together, bringing uncertainty and emotional conflict into the story.
Through these parallel situations, the film explores an important question: can love survive when personal desires clash with family expectations and social traditions?
Rural Life and the Meaning of Love
The village setting gives the film a distinct regional identity. Here, love is not simply a private relationship between two people; it is influenced by family reputation, marriage decisions, and community expectations.
The title Tor Galiyon Mein symbolises the roads connecting people with their memories, hopes, and lost opportunities. The film’s emotional premise reminds viewers that loving someone and building a life together are not always the same thing.
In his review, “Ek Adhoori Premil Dastaan ‘Tor Galiyon Mein’,” Jaydev Das of Kashi highlights the film’s themes of silent love, longing, social pressure, and uncertainty. His interpretation draws attention to the difference between the courage needed to confess love and the struggle required to protect it.
Vivek Nayak’s Voice Adds Musical Emotion
Music plays an important role in romantic storytelling, expressing feelings that characters cannot always communicate through words.
The film features Tor Galiyon Mein and Wahi Mod Pe, sung by popular Nagpuri singer Vivek Nayak. Nipen Demta is associated with the music, Samit Baraik with the lyrics, and Joseph Mridha with music arrangement. Mixing and mastering were completed at Nipen Studio, Khunti.
The songs complement the themes of affection, waiting, and memories, adding another dimension to the film’s emotional world.
